Education

This section offers information around a range of topics, covering the 0-25 age range, including early years education (0-5 years), compulsory education (5-16 years) and post-16 provision (16-25 years).

Compulsory school age begins the term after your child turns 5, which means they are not required under law to attend an educational setting/school until this time. Once a child reaches compulsory school age, it is the legal duty and responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure that the child attends as regularly as possible.
